SPECTATOR CONDUCT

At LLA we strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere for anyone attending our athletic events, opposing players, and fans.

  • We call on you to be noble-minded and ignore petty problems.

  • We call on you to be gracious, helpful hosts

  • We welcome referees as our guests

  • We value this opportunity to witness to ALL of our guests

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY

Every two weeks students’ grades are checked to verify they meet the CIF and LLA standards for athletic academic eligibility: To participate in a varsity sport a student must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, no more than two D’s, and no F’s. If students do not meet this level they will be placed on a FLAG. Each time they do not reach the minimum level at a grade check they will progress through each FLAG.

  • GREEN - No consequences, treated as a 2-week warning period to get above the minimum level.

  • YELLOW - The student is eligible to practice, but ineligible to play or travel with the team for 2 weeks.

  • RED - Student has ONE WEEK to get above minimum or they will be dismissed from the team. Participation restrictions are the same as Yellow.

FINANCES

The participation fee will be charged to each student’s account via smart tuition, pending approval from the business office, after the sports season has begun. Fees are $300 for Varsity and JV sports, $175 for JH sports. If you would prefer a different method of payment for team participation you have the following options:

  • Pay by cash, check, or money order given directly to the athletic department office.

  • Pay by Credit Card in person or over the phone to the athletic department office.

  • NOTE: Smart tuition can only be charged for participation fees, not team gear/merchandise.

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

We strive to provide an enriching environment for our student-athletes but understand that competitive environments are not without their conflict. We adhere to the following principles when resolving issues:

  • Step 1 Player to Coach: This can solve 75% of conflicts.  Please encourage all players to talk to the coach before getting involved.

  • Step 2 Player, Parent, Coach: Next a player and parent(s) can arrange to talk with the coach

  • Step 3 Player, Parent, Coach AD: If further intervention is needed the player and parent(s) may arrange to meet with the coach and AD

  • Step 3: Lastly all parties arrange to meet with the HS administration.

When an issue arises we would like you to employ a 24-hour rule. Unless time sensitive, wait 24 hours before contacting the coach, AD, or administration.

Refer to HS Handbook page. 21, and JH Handbook page. 25

At LLA Athletics, we guide students through character-testing environments that equip students for success, regardless of the outcomes. We aim to foster a strong sense of teamwork and family. None of this is possible with out your continued support.
